Danito Supreme
So what if tonight wasn’t the right night

I’m starting to get into the meat of my marathon training schedule, so I figured I should start writing down some of the stuff that I am going through so I remember it when I either a) stop running entirely or b) am doing these things like clockwork.

Finished a seven mile run tonight even though I wasn’t supposed to do it ‘til tomorrow. Since I’m flying to Denver tomorrow, I knew I wouldn’t have time to do a long run in the morning, and I’m probably not going to transpose the three I was supposed to do today tomorrow, since I’d like my shoes not to be soaking wet by the time I put them in my bag. Then all my clothes’d smell like sweat and who wants to show up to a vacation weekend smelling like a gym?

Coming off the 13 mile run from this weekend that kicked my ass (it was much hotter than I expected), I wasn’t exactly sure what tonight was going to hold. But I felt pretty good, even if the new shorts I bought tonight (because I forgot to take my laundry in and didn’t have anything to wear) seemed to tweak my left quad and it felt like I had a rubber band around my leg for most of the run. Not too bad, but I’m not sure if the compression shorts I bought were too snug or what. The right leg didn’t bother me at all.

It’s getting dark early now, so not sure what’s going to happen to these long weeknight runs. Once it gets to be more than eight miles, I can’t really effectively do that down 5th Ave. and back up 4th Ave., and I don’t really want to go over to McDonald (that’s a little sketchy in the dark). We’ll see if I have to go indoors at that point or if I can find a route that works outdoors.
